Carol Vigil, Jemez Pueblo
 

 

Born on March 18th 1960, Carol is a member of the Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. Her mother is Cerelia Baca. Taught traditional pottery making by her grandmother, Carol has been producing pottery for over 23 years. She is regarded as one of the best potters in Jemez.

Her work is highly sought by collectors and is found in numerous galleries, the Maxwell Museum as well as private collections. She is well known for her detailed sgraffito designs, delicately carved into redware pots made from clay dug locally in Jemez.
