ANNUAL ANTIQUITIES SHOW

February 2 - March 31, 2012

Quintana Galleries kicks off its 40th year with an exhibition of fine antiquties. Culled from several significant private collections of Native artifacts, works include basketry from the Columbia River Gorge, beadwork from the Plateau and Plains regions, and carvings from the Arctic.

Of special note are a pair of beaded Sioux leggings dating to the turn of the last century, a pristine condition, multi-figured “Sally Bag” from the Wasco Nation, and a Skokomish storage basket with a design of wolves with downturned tails dating to the 1800’s. Both the Sally Bag and the Skokomish storage basket were included in A Concise History of Northwest Art at the Tacoma Art Museum.
